Lions Motto: "We Serve"

For over eighty years the Lions have been recognized throughout the world for their service to the blind and visually impaired. A majority of the world's eye banks are established and supported by Lions, as are hundreds of clinics, hospitals and eye research centers. Over the fifty years of existence of our Lions Club, countless members of our local community have been helped with free quality eye care and eyeglasses that they would not otherwise been able to obtain.

Locally, our club holds fund raising activities throughout each year. Our customary events have been the bingo stand during Scandinavian Days, the Doc Semler, Sr. golf tournament, pancake suppers and pie sales. Moneys earned from these activities are donated to state and national sight and hearing conservation programs as well as local community needs. In Story City, we have recently supported health and wellness with contributions to the community health center, the ambulance service, and our parks and recreation facilities.                Read Story City Ambulance Crew's Thank You Letter
